PACIFIC KORO
Pacific Koro is a landmark mixed‑use development in Suva, Fiji comprising two six‑storey commercial buildings with retail, food and beverage, office and hospitality use, together with standalone pavilion structures. The structural solution integrates mass timber and steel, with cross‑laminated timber (CLT) floors and roofs supported by steel moment‑resisting frames and shallow reinforced concrete foundations. The design responds directly to the Pacific context, addressing cyclonic wind demands, moderate seismicity, high humidity corrosive coastal conditions and termite risk. Emphasis was placed on durability, constructability and efficient material use, while achieving long spans, open ground‑level laneways and vibrant public spaces. The project demonstrates our capability in delivering resilient, climate‑responsive structural solutions for complex developments across the Pacific Islands.
